Panthers announce initial 53-man roster following cut deadline: Here’s who made the cut
The Panthers have constructed the initial 53-man roster of the Frank Reich era.
Following a mass exodus on the waiver wire, the Panthers reached the league-mandated roster limit on Tuesday.
While there are likely to be a few changes made over the next couple of days through various roster moves (waiver wire claims will be made Wednesday at noon), Carolina has established the bulk of its depth chart after a grueling training camp at Wofford College and an informative preseason slate.
Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young has time to move in the pocket as the offensive line provides protection during first quarter action against the Detroit Lions on Friday, August 25, 2023 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, NC.
Here is the initial 53-man roster for the Panthers:
QB: Bryce Young, Andy Dalton, Matt Corral
RB: Miles Sanders, Chuba Hubbard, Raheem Blackshear
WR: Adam Thielen, DJ Chark, Jonathan Mingo, Terrace Marshall, Laviska Shenault, Ihmir Smith-Marsette, Derek Wright
TE: Hayden Hurst, Ian Thomas, Tommy Tremble, Giovanni Ricci, Stephen Sullivan
OL: Ickey Ekwonu, Brady Christensen, Bradley Bozeman, Chandler Zavala, Taylor Moton, Cade Mays, Nash Jensen, Ricky Lee
DL: Derrick Brown, Shy Tuttle, DeShawn Williams, LaBryan Ray, Nick Thurman
OLB: Brian Burns, Justin Houston, Marquis Haynes, Yetur Gross-Matos, DJ Johnson, Amare Barno
ILB: Shaq Thompson, Frankie Luvu, Kamu Grugier-Hill, Chandler Wooten

S: Vonn Bell, Xavier Woods, Sam Franklin, Jammie Robinson

Correction: An earlier version of this story featured Cam Erving, Taylor Stallworth and Greg Mabin. Those three players were released to get the roster down to 53 players.
