NFL Team Report - Jacksonville Jaguars
FRIDAY INJURY REPORTWASHINGTON REDSKINS --OUT: LB Ryan Anderson (hamstring), G Tony Bergstrom (ankle, knee), QB Colt McCoy (fibula), TE Jordan Reed (ankle, foot) --QUESTIONABLE: WR Josh Doctson (concussion), DE Matt Ioannidis (shin), T Morgan Moses (ankle), S Montae Nicholson (illness), T Ty Nsekhe (knee), LS Nick Sundberg (back), RB Chris Thompson (illness)JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS --OUT: WR DJ Chark (quadrcieps), T Jermey Parnell (knee), G Josh Walker (ankle) --QUESTIONABLE: K Josh Lambo (right groin), DE Lerentee McCray (illness)PLAYER NOTES --K Kai Forbath was signed by the Jaguars Friday after Josh Lambo suffered a groin on Thursday. PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: S Ronnie Harrison will make his third start since replacing Barry Church and he made a key play in their 6-0 victory over the Colts in his first game. He sacked Andrew Luck for a 10-yard loss when the Colts went for it on fourth-and-1 in the fourth quarter. The Jaguars got good value in selecting the former Alabama player in the third round and he seems likely to become a fixture in the secondary in the future. He will be looking to make a good impression in this game and the final three to stake his bid for the job next year. GAME PLAN: The Jaguars figure to take some deep shots early against the Redskins defense to try to get an early lead. Cody Kessler has been cautious in his first two starts, but the Redskins, like most teams, are likely to jam the box to stop the run and they need to show they can make a few big plays instead of relying on the short pass. On defense, they have been burned by mobile quarterbacks this year, but since Josh Johnson has been with the Redskins for only 10 days, they are likely to put pressure on him and try to force him to make mistakes. The other priority will be to stop Adrian Peterson from breaking off big runs the way Derrick Henry did last week.MATCHUPS TO WATCH --Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette vs. Redskins front seven or eight. The Jaguars still want to be a running team, but Fournette hasn't been a big factor since returning from his ankle injury. Fournette hasn't found much running room, forcing the Jaguars into third-and-longs. He needs to find a way to run against the Redskins 3-4 that will be selling out to stop him. --Redskins LOLB Ryan Kerrigan vs. Jaguars RT. Kerrigan is the Redskins' top pass rusher with nine sacks and the Redskins aren't even sure who is going to start against him. Starter Jeremy Parnell didn't practice Wednesday and head coach Doug Marrone says he is banged up. He wouldn't rule out bringing Josh Wells back from IR to face Kerrigan.
