Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Kyzir White (44) missed the last four games due to a knee injury.
The Los Angeles Chargers placed rookie linebacker Kyzir White on the reserve/injured list, the team announced Saturday. The move came one day before the Chargers (5-2), winners of four in a row and in second place in the AFC West, visit the Seattle Seahawks (4-3) on Sunday. To fill White's spot on the 53-man roster, Los Angeles signed cornerback Jeff Richards off the practice squad. White missed the last four games with a knee injury. He registered a season-high seven tackles, including one for loss, in a 25-23 defeat at the Los Angeles Rams on Sept. 23 in the last game he played. A fourth-round pick out of West Virginia in this year's NFL Draft, White posted 19 tackles, one tackle for loss, three passes defensed and one interception. The 6-foot-2, 218-pound White had his lone interception to clinch the Chargers' 31-20 victory over the Buffalo Bills in Week 2. Richards spend the bulk of the past two seasons on the team's practice squad. He was claimed off waivers from the Carolina Panthers in September 2017. The 6-2, 210-pound Richards was an undrafted free agent out of Emporia State. He played in the Arena League and spent two seasons (2015-16) with the Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League.
