Trey Flowers

Voted second-team All-SEC in 2014, racking up 44 tackles, including 13.5 for loss and five sacks, plus three forced fumbles and an interception. The production was nothing new for Flowers, who posted similar numbers in 2013 (50 tackles, including 13 for loss and six sacks) and earned a spot on the SEC All-Freshman team as a true freshman in 2011 with 28 tackles, including 5.5 for loss and a sack while seeing action in all 13 games (three starts). Explored entering the 2014 NFL Draft before he received a third-round grade from the Advisory Committee. With experience rushing from the left and right side and also from the two-point stance, Flowers could be a coveted versatile chess piece for almost any team's front seven.

strengths

Flowers looks the part of an NFL defensive lineman with broad shoulders, long arms and good overall musculature. Average initial quickness for the position but generates good speed off the corner because of his long gait. Length and strength of his arms -- used effectively to discard blockers and lasso ball-carriers on the move ?- are his best traits.

weaknesses

Junior game film did not reveal ideal flexibility, explosive quick-twitch or the straight-line speed to be a featured stand-up rusher in the NFL, but scouts will appreciate his versatility and the effort he shows in pursuit. Could boost his stock in athletic testing if he shows better burst off the edge.

A two-time Alabama all-state honoree in 2009 and 2010, Flowers looks to bring size and strength to Arkansas. Flowers earned his all-state recognition from the Alabama Sports Writers Association in two different classes, first in Class 4A as a junior and again in Class 5A as a senior. He was a defensive standout for head coach Corey Collier's program, which has only been in existence for five seasons. He also was a steady contributor on the Columbia High School basketball squad. Flowers chose the Razorbacks after also drawing interest from UAB, Georgia Tech and South Alabama.

Born Aug. 16, 1993, he is the son of Robert and Jacqueline Flowers. He is enrolled in the Walton College of Business and is majoring in business. He was named to the Razorback Honor Roll for his work in the classroom in the fall of 2011 and to the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll in 2012.
