UPDATES
Week 5: Wilson brought his Big 10-leading touchdown-reception total to eight on the year — the next closest Big 10 receiver has four TD catches — as the receiver caught two more scoring strikes from J.J. McCarthy in Michigan's 45-7 beatdown of Nebraska. The first of the two TDs, which came on Michigan's opening drive, was a spectacular leaping grab in the back of the end zone, with Wilson reaching over a defensive back to secure the catch before getting one foot down in play. The 29-yard score was the receiver's longest catch of the day. Overall, Wilson was targeted four times, caught every target, finishing with 58 yards.
Week 4: Though held without a touchdown for the first time this season, Wilson still contributed with three receptions for 59 yards (19.7 yards per catch) and had a solid day blocking on running plays. He split time between the slot (10 snaps) and split wide (11) as Michigan upended visiting Rutgers, 31-7. — JH
Week 3: In the Wolverines' 31-6 win over Bowling Green, Wilson more or less continued his hot start to season. Splitting his time on passing plays lining up both wide (seven snaps) and in the slot (eight), Wilson was targeted just three times, but he caught two of them for 42 yards and his long of 33 yards resulted in his sixth TD reception of the season. Wilson has clearly become J.J. McCarthy's go-to man in and around the red zone. — JH
Week 2: Wilson followed up this three-TD performance with two more receiving touchdowns in Michigan's 35-7 win over UNLV. He was targeted five times and caught four catches total for 89 yards. His five receiving TDs thus far makes Wilson an early candidate for this year's Biletnikoff Award for college football's best receiver. — JH
Week 1: Wilson had a marvelous day, torching East Carolina for three touchdown receptions as Michigan rolled the Pirates, 30-3. On his first two scores, Wilson worked himself open in the end zone as QB J.J. McCarthy — who finished 26-of-30 on the day — scrambled and bought time. Playing mostly out of the slot (19 snaps), Wilson wound up with six catches for 78 yards, leading the team in both categories. — JH
