Tarheeb Still
UPDATES
Week 5: Still played 47 snaps in unbeaten Maryland's smashup of Indiana, 44-17. The corner had no interceptions and recorded no pass breakups. He was targeted twice, allowing receptions on both for 27 total yards. Still, as he has in previous weeks, showed a nose for the ball — the DB was in on six tackles, including two solo. — JH
Week 4: Still's highlight of the day came on his fourth-quarter interception and return off Michigan State backup QB Katin Hauser. But it would've been an even bigger highlight had not Still, at the end of a brilliant weaving return, fallen in the Michgan State 20-yard line with nothing but green in front of him. Aside from that play, Still's coverage was up and down. He did allow only three completions on nine targets, but those completions went for 60 yards, including a long of 33. — JH
Week 3: Still intercepted two of Cavaliers QB Anthony Colandrea's passes, including a terrific sprawling pick in the front corner of the end zone on 3rd-and-10 to deny Virginia a game-tying TD at the start of the fourth quarter. Maryland went on to win 42-14 in a game that was closer than the score indicated. Still did allow six catches on 12 targets for 70 yards, so Colandrea and the Cavs' coaching staff obviously thought they could target the Maryland DB. Still was also penalized once in the game. — JH
Week 2: In 37 snaps, Still was credited with five tackles as Maryland recovered from a slow start to trounce Charlotte, 38-20. The corner was targeted twice, allowing one catch for seven yards, as the Terps' D limited Towson's passing attack to 189 yards. Still was also credited with a QB pressure. — JH
Week 1: Still played 34 snaps in Maryland's season opener, a 38-6 romp over Towson. He did not record any defensive stats — no tackles and no targets in pass coverage. — JH
